Pinnacle API alternatives after the 2025 shutdown
Pinnacle closed its public API to most users in July 2025. Its prices are still the reference the betting market measures itself against, so many bots, models and tools need another way to get them.
Your options
- A betting broker. If you want to place bets at Pinnacle prices, a broker account is the product. You get prices to bet on, not a data feed.
- A multi-bookmaker aggregator. Many books in one API, usually polled REST with request credits. Good for line shopping; usually slower and shallower for one book.
- A Pinnacle odds API. One book, pushed in real time, with every alternative line. oddssea is one, and here's how the dedicated ones compare.
Switching to oddssea in three steps
- Create an account: no email, no password. You get an account number and an API key.
- If your code used the ps3838 / Pinnacle API, change its base URL to
https://api.oddssea.dev/ps3838and send the key inX-API-Key. Fixtures and odds come back in the same JSON shapes (details). - For real time, open the WebSocket instead of polling. Every change is pushed as it happens:
const ws = new WebSocket("wss://api.oddssea.dev/v1/stream");
ws.onopen = () => {
ws.send(JSON.stringify({ op: "auth", key: KEY }));
ws.send(JSON.stringify({ op: "subscribe", sports: ["soccer"], live: true }));
};
ws.onmessage = m => console.log(JSON.parse(m.data));
The full reference is in the docs. The Free plan has delayed prematch odds, enough to check the data's shape before paying.
